Given up for adoption at just seven years old, Ida was raised in Hong Kong by a pastor and his wife, sharing a single spare room with six siblings. Her life was not without hardship—she lost two fingers in an industrial accident, was robbed at knifepoint while pregnant, and, at her lowest point, had just $5 left to feed her family. Yet, through these struggles, she never lost hope.

Ida went on to build a remarkable legacy in the fashion industry. She managed a thriving garment factory in New York City, co-founded the luxury brand Lafayette 148, and, alongside her husband, established a 240,000-square-foot manufacturing facility employing over 1,200 people. Beyond business, she dedicated herself to empowering others, sponsoring the School of Dreams for underprivileged students and creating a training center for fashion design graduates.
